How to succeed at Terra One
Set Ambitious Goals
It’s useful to focus on adding another zero to whatever you define as your success metric. If your goal seems achievable in a year, ask why not a month? What others plan in a week, try to deliver today. Even if you fall short, you'll be further ahead than you imagined.
Be impatient with action but patient with results. Results often take time to materialize, especially in complex systems like the power market. If you consistently show up and focus on your most important tasks, you will be rewarded over time.
Focus
Focus is a force multiplier on work. It is much more important to work on the right thing than it is to work many hours. Often people waste their time on stuff that doesn’t matter. In hindsight, 20% of the work delivered 80% of the results.
Reject work that doesn't drive results. Meetings without value are distractions—leave them. Being busy is irrelevant; effectiveness is. Identify your highest-impact tasks and execute them consistently.
Think Independently
Avoid groupthink. Form your own opinions based on your reasoning—not market trends. If external partners tell you that something can't be done - question it - is it physically impossible or is it based on an assumption - an opinion?
Being wrong is not a problem as long as you correct quickly and learn from it.
Communicate Transparently
Clearly communicate your perspectives. Share your work publicly and often. Let your teammates know what you're doing, why it matters, and how it contributes to our goals. Terra One works on many different topics in parallel. Speaking openly about it helps others to see the value in your work.
Reject Hierarchy
Speak directly. Ideas and solutions can come from anyone, regardless of title or position. Address concerns openly. At Terra One, your voice matters as much as anyone else's.
